Cleric who forced woman to bath in front of kin arrested by police

The woman had lodged FIR against accused Maulana, her husband and in-laws

The woman had alleged in her complaint that the accused had asked her to bathe under the waterfall in front of kin to 'bear the child'

Pune city police have arrested a Tantrik who had forced a woman in Pune to bath under a waterfall in front of kin as part of 'Aghori Pooja'. The accused cleric identified as Maulana Baba Jamadar was arrested from Ichalkaranji, Kolhapur district by the officials of Bharti Vidyapeeth police station. The victim woman had registered a complaint with police against her husband, Tantrik and her in-laws.

The woman had alleged in her complaint that the accused had asked her to bathe under the waterfall in front of kin to 'bear the child'. Her husband and in-laws had forcefully taken her to the Tantrik in Raigad district to perform the Aghori practices. The Tantrik had informed the family that the woman had 'Bhanamati' on her and he will have to perform pooja to remove the same.

The woman got married in 2013 and had no children, after which the family forced her to undergo such ill practices. She has also alleged in the complaint that she was forced to follow this so that her husband would make a profit in his business. A case in this regard was registered at the Bharati Vidyapeeth police station in the matter. Police are investigating further in the case.
