Love Jihad in Assam: Bangladeshi Mumin Uddin kidnapped a Hindu girl after sexual exploitation and blackmailing

A fresh case of Love Jihad has been reported from the Silchar town of Assam. Mumin Uddin, allegedly a Bangladeshi citizen, trapped and sexually exploited a Hindu girl. On the 10th of January, Wednesday, along with workers of Hindu organisations, held a press conference in Silchar and demanded the recovery of her daughter immediately.

As per the information, the girl(24) used to work in a swimming pool in the Nagatila area of Silchar town. There, she came in contact with a boy—the accused, Mumin Uddin, who introduced himself as a Hindu and trapped the girl in love. A few days ago, the girl eloped with the boy.

Her mother alleged, “My daughter is in Tripura now. From there, she called me and told me she had made a blunder. The boy with whom she eloped is Muslim and not a Hindu. His name is Mumin Uddin. He is a Bangladeshi citizen. The boy trapped my daughter, saying that he is Hindu and he is a resident of Punjab.”

She further narrated, “The boy made an intimate relationship with my daughter and recorded her private photos and videos. By threatening her to make those photos and videos public, the boy forced my daughter to elope with him. I request the Assam Police and CM Himanta Biswa Sarma to bring my daughter back”.

However, the Hindu organisation VHP took up the matter. General Secretary of VHP’s Cachar district, Shri Mithun Nath, said, “Cases of Love Jihad are rising. Last year, hundreds of Hindu girls became victims of this menace. Jihadis are targeting the girls of poor Hindu families. These all are preplanned. We demand strong action from the Police.”

Sources said that the Police are doing their best to recover the girl. By tracking the location, a team of police raided a house in Sonamura, Tripura. But the Police couldn’t find the girl there.
